This new Standard theme design and implementation are what I’ve been working on lately and it is available with the new version of BlogEngine.NET.
Also if you have BlogEngine 3.0 or above, You can download it from Github directly and install on your Blog through FTP or your host's control panel.
This theme is step up from what we had before. It uses some cool advanced features that might need some explaining on how to use and customize it. I’ll try to address it in this post.
This theme uses popular front-end frameworks "Bootstrap 3.7" and "FontAwesome 4.6.3", which right now are the latest versions with lots of improvements, along with jQuery.
You can customize several things in this theme. First, you’ll have to log into your admin panel. Then, navigate to "Custom" section and select “Themes”. To customize the theme, click "customize" icon on the Standard theme.
In the “Custom Fields” window you’ll see all items that you can customize. I will explain them one by one.
background color left and right
You can make a horizontal gradient. Or you can put the same value in both fields and have a solid color as a result. The value should be hex, like #cb2d3e - I suggest going to the http://uigradients.com website, there are lots of nice and modern gradients that you can copy and paste to the first and second fields for your theme background.
Here are some examples:
You can set your logo URL address into this field. Here is an example:
You can write a nice description about yourself or your blog without any limitations, including HTML text. So do whatever you want there.
Social Network Accounts
The rest of the fields are about the social network accounts that you might have, and you can put the link for each one and theme will show them like this:
Home Alert Box
This is just for an alert box which have a link to this article. You can turn it off by setting to "false".
In couple weeks I plan to write an article about how you can create your own theme based on the Standard. Also, you can check all of the themes that I've implemented so far. If you like what you see or have suggestions on how to make it better, please comment below!
Also if you customized your blog with this theme, let me know in comments and share URL that others can see how it looks in the real blog. Thanks.
